Eloping With Family - A Few Pouts & Lots Of Laughter
The Heart of Alyssa & Ryan’s Elopement:
Their Family And Their Adorable Kids
Photos by Jewel Afflerbaugh
When I think of Alyssa and Ryan’s day, I think of the the sweetest tiny wedding with their closest family and their beautiful son and daughters.
We took them to a mini mountain in the heart of Colorado where it was an easy five minute walk up a graded trail to ensure that all family members would be able to join.
The key to this spot is that the trail makes for the perfect “aisle” for a processional, and we did just that - the bride and groom’s parents walked in, then their ring bearer son, then their flower girl daughters, then Alyssa and her dad.
At the top, we had a stunning mountain backdrop for the ceremony and for photos afterward, along with plenty of pine forest and nature to play in while taking photos too.
Some of the best photos and pics (in addition to the connection glow between Alyssa & Ryan) were of their children. The girls were a great example of what it’s like to elope with family - kids are gonna be in whatever mood they’re gonna be in! And it’s all good because it’s easy to roll with this during an elopement.
Check out our photo story to see how the sweetest photos, an example of a rose exchange ceremony and to spend a little time with this family elopement at the top of a mini mountain…
We started out up the trail, with all family members in tow. Then we waited at the top for Alyssa and her dad to join us as they walked up the trail/aisle…
The girls ranged from shy to adorably pouty to laughing and every other emotion in between. Our photographer caught it all on camera and every shot is the sweetest.
Their son was the perfect ring bearer. He took his responsibility really seriously and was attentive and helpful for the entire experience. He was the model ring bearer for all ring bearers to come!
The girls also got to help out with a rose exchange in the middle of our ceremony. The roses are a first gift after having made vows and exchanged rings.
Now for photos with Alyssa, Ryan and the kids! There was laughter, plus more adorable pouting and shyness, plus our dapper ring bearer did some picture perfect posing in each and every photo :)
Now a little one-on-one time for the bride and groom, plus a cool way to end the day with a marriage license signing on a park bench in the pines!
