Or maybe you’re coming to Durango from farther away because you love the mix of modern and Wild Old West here in this lovely area.

Durango Elopement Location: MOLAS PASS

Molas Pass

45-minute drive from downtown Durango.

*Available in March through November.

We love Molas Pass! Not only do you feel like you’re on top of the world here at 10,000 feet in a basin with 360 degrees of mountains all around you, it’s also a 45-minute breathtaking drive to get here from the town of Durango. Thus the limitation on times of year for elopements - for much of the year this spot is under snow, but when it melts it is the quintessential rocky mountain location to have a beautiful elopement mini adventure.

Durango Elopement Location: BAKERS BRIDGE

Bakers Bridge

15-minute drive from downtown Durango.

*Available year-round, weather dependent.

The gorgeous Animas River, stunning rock formations and a view of the valley with big Colorado open sky. Bakers Bridge is just outside of Durango so it’s an easy drive while at the same time an iconic spot to get married. They actually filmed a scene from the movie Butch and Sundance Kid at this very spot many decades ago. Stand on the rock overlook for your ceremony, then take photos in all the cool nooks and crannies down by the river. It’s also just a one-minute walk from the parking area to the ceremony spot. Easy peasy!

Durango Elopement Location: CASCADE MOUNTAIN VISTA

Cascade Mountain Vista

30-minute drive from downtown Durango.

*Available year-round, weather dependent.

A sweet location that is super easy to access with stunning views of the San Juan Mountains as your backdrop. Great for Aspen colors in the fall, a winter wonderland in the snowy months or spring in the heart of the high country. It’s a short walk from a dirt parking lot to this hill with the peaks behind you. A perfect little spot to get married.

Durango Elopement Location: FALLS CREEK

Falls Creek

A 10-minute drive from downtown Durango

*Available year-round.

This spot is so new we haven’t had an elopement here yet! And these pics were taken with a camera phone, so just know elopement package photos will be professional, have much richer color… and have you in them ;)

This is a beautiful spot if you like red rocks, mesas and that southwestern feel. It also works as a great backup location if there is intense weather at our Molas Pass or Cascade Mountain Vista locations. There is a big open meadow with a gorgeous rock backdrop, or you can get married in the pine trees with the mesas behind you. Either way, you’ll take photos in all of the spots and soak in the southwestern mountain beauty.
